Sure. I was part of the Business Intelligence group. We implemented various
models (related to Basel II and other regulatory stuff), reporting solutions, did
some portfolio analysis... basically, we were the guys between the data and the
business users (management, analysts, various other groups).

It's funny when you're a technical person among (mostly) economists.

Sometimes they'd ask for something that was difficult in their opinion (usually
something that was done on a large data set or involved maths or something)
and easy from the technical standpoint. You do it quickly and they'd be full
of praise (I actually got presents from middle-aged ladies on few occasions).

Other times they'd ask for something that was easy in their opinion, but was
actually quite hard to do due to imprecise definitions, gaps in data or some
other issues, and they'd be bewildered by how it can't be done by tomorrow.

All considered, it wasn't a bad experience, but I had to go. Banks here are
pretty rigid systems. Nobody gets punished for slacking off and nobody gets
rewarded for working hard. It's the next closest thing to working for the
government, I think. I can do better than that.
