Walker and the Republican party is done for in this state. I would not be suprised to see Walker recalled as soon as possible (and I would support it). Someone found Senate Majority leader Scott Fitzgerald's Facebook account. I sent him this message:
Greetings sir. As a Republican, I am just writing you to let you know that your actions on Wednesday concerning the State Budget Repair Bill (regardless of any legality issues) has fully swayed me to forever more vote Democrat in local and state elections. I will be doing my part to not only remove any and all Republicans from office (to include yourself) but will actively campaign against them in the future.
As a conservative, I approve of being uncompromising, but not with your constituents. You want to play hardball, go do it with foreigners, but listen to your own people.
My condolences with the loss of your Seat.

Reread what I just typed. I am more upset with how they went about this. They altered to bill and passed it in a committee meeting without talking it over (and without the required 24 hour notice of the meeting, which is where the legality aspect is coming from) and rammed it through without any disscussions.
The biggest thing the 14 Democrats accomplished by leaving the state to deny a quarum was they gave people the oppertunity to talk about the bill. At the time the Democrats left, I think there was something about 50% support for it (I admit I am pulling that number out of my ass and just guessing), but as time went on and people began to understand the bill better, Walker and the Republicans were loosing huge chunks of support. It's odd. DD was so supportive of polls as indicators of good political decisions not long ago. I wonder what changed.
