No. That most assuredly will never happen.Originally posted by Agent Sox View PostHaha, maybe. Sometimes I think it will be some giant cyberpunkian megacorp."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

All you make is one liners. When I'm arguing a point, as you damn well know, I often write several paragraphs. You saw some of my posts.Originally posted by gribbler View PostThat's just a one liner. Why can't you make an actual argument against the point he raised?
I don't have anything to say to elaborate on that. I just don't see how we would even have a war against a corporation. It's a business. Why would it wage war on people? Yes, I know the British and Dutch East India Companies were state-like entities that essentially conquered territory, had military forces, and governed but I don't see some 'cyberpunk' megacorporation doing something like that in the near future. There are far more likely war scenarios than that."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

There's no point in a multi paragraph response to posts that are just plain stupid. That's why I stick responding to you with one or two sentences.Originally posted by Al B. Sure! Nah more likely would be that the corporation would still be concerned with profits but would appeal to governments to send in the troops to enforce the company's business interests a la Dole FruitOriginally posted by Agent Sox View PostI believe it's possible that a corporation could be hijacked by other interests. Then it wouldn't be so focused on profit and stocks."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

I don't know. I don't know enough about the history of banana republics but I don't think United Fruit and Standard/Dole Fruit ever really competed outside of the marketplace. They were both American companies though and supported by the US. If a French fruit company or something made inroads, I don't know what would have happened.Originally posted by N35t0r View PostWhat if it's a war with another corporation?
Regardless, it would be governments warring to preserve business interests, not businesses warring."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi
