Going there next week for 5 days.

Can anyone tell me what I should see when I'm there?

Obviously I'm going to see the major sights like the Prado and Museo Reina Sofia, but are there any interesting and lesser known sights that people have seen?

Also, any great bars and restaurants people might recommend?
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

The Chueca neighbourhood has some pretty interesting bars. I didn't really spend much time there, and was with a friend the whole time, and she took me places.

Thanks for being so usefully vague. I hope she took you to some nice places...

I think we're going Ronda and Ronda in circles, cerveza me right I guess for trying to post a serious thread...

I was there around 5 years ago, so I'm afraid actually remembering the places wouldn't have been of much use anyway.

But yeah, I got to see some amazing sights

If you've got the time though, in Segovia (a couple hours ride from Madrid, there's also a train IIRC) they make a mean cochinillo, and there's a roman aqueduct and a castle which burnt down and was rebuilt in the 1800s

Just staying in Madrid this time, but Segovia is certainly on the radar for a more ambitious visit I keep meaning to do, including Bilbao and the north coast.

Just looked up cochinillo and you will be glad to know that we've already found a place in Madrid that is reknowned for its suckling pig...

It would be a crime to visit a foreign country and not dive headfirst into its culinary delights!
