I've honestly been expecting to get such a letter for the last year but I've some how managed to hold on. I'm honestly over paid for what I do.

That's pretty much the impression I've got over the past couple of years Boris. So I'd rather not, all in all...

Are you going to use your free time to resume your hobby of driving into Porsches?

You know, the place where I am going for this interview is right next to where I hit that Porsche. You do know that was rather a long time ago don't you...2000 in fact

Come up to Manchester. Your salary will go a lot further, and the house fund will go twice as far.

Hopefully you can convince your new company to let you have a little 'bumming around' time (not in that sense!) before you start.

If PH wants to get some bum-loving action in I don't see why not.

Well I have nothing to do on my current job so my time is effectively from home (I am "working from home" currently). I will be up in Manchester next Wednesday (interview) and then the second weekend after that (friend's birthday) so I should get the chance to do some exploring. But this job would give me a significant pay rise in a place with a lower cost of living...not a bad order to do things in

I've been bumming so much recently I'm sore...with boredom

Well I am all lined up for the interview on Wednesday - should be a walk, although they have an HR person in the interview on Wednesday and they have a nasty habit of asking weird questions.

                          Damn HR

I also have another potential project in Dublin...I am now trying to juggle these two. The Oop North job is of the greatest interest to me so I am trying to put the other interview off until later on in the week. But I said if I do go for that job, I can take it very quickly.

The funny thing is though, the biggest problem I am facing is that the redundancy date is too late and might have to exit earlier

different folks different strokes... I was several times in Switzerland so a fair amount of time, as I have some old college friends there... Best Country in The World. as far as I am concerned... but I guess if you are english speaking and have noone over there, that may be a hurdle to overcome

Actually the main reason I have decided against it is because of personal reasons (there are family reasons why I want to be closer to my home city, not further away) and then there is the whole language thing and completely having to rebuild a social life. But I think it would be great if I was raising a family. I have worked in Switzerland and the guys were truly awesome and a pleasure to work with, so that side of things wouldn't worry me.
