    I've heard it's called KEITH.

I still want to know what that "allergic to water" business was about.

Nah, my worldview doesn't really contribute to my depression. When I have depressive thoughts, they're of the usual variety: my job sucks, nobody understands me, (formerly) I'm so alone, blah blah blah. I don't crawl into a ball in the corner and cry myself to sleep wondering why I haven't become omniscient yet. In fact, my least depressed moments are when I'm able to construct and make progress toward concrete goals related to my crazy worldview.

Why do you believe nobody understands you?

As for job sucking, I can understand that.

Typically with depression there's no legitimate cause for the sadness, you just feel like crap and grab whatever's at hand to justify beating up on yourself. I remember when I was a teenager, I managed to go from "I got a C in English" to "I'm doomed to fail at everything and it's all BS and not my fault, the whole world's against me and blah blah blah." And I realized it was a little crazy as I was thinking it, but I still thought it. There were times when I thought I was really going to go insane--at times my mood oscillated between hysterical laughter and near-tears and back within minutes. And when I couldn't find anything to blame, I simply sat in my dark bedroom and cried a while. Thankfully, the drugs helped a lot. As did growing out of adolescence and getting stable hormones. And prayer--I did lean a lot on God for support, just to be honest. If that doesn't work for you, it doesn't work for you, I'm sure you know the door's open, etc., and that's all I'm going to say on the subject.

Anyway, if misery loves company, hey, you've had company for a while there. I have some idea what you're going through, if that helps.

Very similar to my adolescent experiences.

                  There's hope for you, Sir.

I once was depressed for a year or so and took up a course in 'assertiveness'. That helped.
I also went to something called 'rebalancing'. Basically the guy gave me a sort of massage, but instead of rubbing out the stiff parts, he made them hurt more. In fact, it hurted like hell. Brought up a lot of painfull memories, but it made it possible for me to let them go.
Since you tried psychiatrist and pills in vain, I'm sure following alternative routes could be a worthwhile try.

In that case, if you decide to go the volunteering route, volunteer to mentor a teen. Odds are good you'll get an angsty one.

This is because it causes an increase in the amount of dopamine somewhere in the brain. And that I remember from a lecture to a M.Psych class I attended when 14 (plus those people were a bunch of idiots who let a 14 year old out smart them).

                          • Sorry for derailing this thread, It just looks like a good thread for posting a mental health issue

I heard a voice whispering my name and a short sentence into my ear when trying to fall asleep, it is normal right? Some **** that happens when you are in a state in between being asleep and awaken, right?

                            It did freak me out

                            • A couple of days ago the same happened to me, and apparently I asked my girlfriend 'What happens?', and when she asked 'Why?' I told her I'd heard my name mentioned. She was very amused, and told me about it the following morning.
