Are you familiar with what the word "or" means?

And I don't care what MikeH said, I was responding to what you said. You said there was no way the majority of Americans are pro-choice, when your own link says only 23% want to ban abortion.

    • I think the real reason Albie is anti-abortion is because he wants to keep women in the kitchen without a job or higher education...

      • Canada's abortion laws would be the more fertile target Al as I'm unaware of any substantive difference between the laws here and the UK with the possible exception of public funding for the procedure.

People in comas are still alive. You mean irreversible comas? I'm not certain about the details there, but I'm not really worried about the definition of death.

Second para: Our rules, which I broadly support, are pretty much EXACTLY THE SAME as the laws in the US. In what way is what I think any different from the majority of Americans or from your laws?
We don't base our laws strictly on cost/benefit analyses. We also take account of human rights. Your question was about the costs and benefits to the mother (who would be motivated only by economics?), the babies (who would in many cases be dead), and society (more niglets, more crime).

I'm curious, do you think Canada's relaxed stance towards abortion (which creates less unwanted children, which creates less ****ed-up children) has any impact on the fact that Canada has lower crime rates, incarceration rates, lower poverty rates, and in general a more sane populace?

            • I've yet to see any evidence that ending a pregnancy in the 9th month causes any of those things. How do you explain countries with stricter abortion laws than Canada's also having those things?

It's simple. The sane populace is why they have the gun control laws. It's also why they have all of the other features.

                            • Yet virtually all of them have stricter laws than Canada wrt abortion. How do you explain it?

I'd probably start with the fact that there are many, many factors in why these are the case and no one issue is a magic bullet?

Do you need me to explain more basic things or are you good from here on out?
