You do realize that aside from America, most countries are hundreds or thousands of miles from Canada? Other than America, who the **** is capable of invading Canada? Yeah, Canada benefits a lot from the fact that the US hasn't invaded in a while, but that's not exactly a 'free ride'.

They don't say "That's ridiculous" or "that's idiotic!" I'm not quite sure why you think I'm being condescending. To me, it seems as though you are just offended at the idea that anyone says things that could be construed as speaking highly of Israel, as you respond quite emotionally to fairly bland statements of fact, such as "Israel is a close ally of the US", which is something you can't possibly disagree with even if you disapprove.

That Israel is a close ally of the USA is non controvertial, the issue is some comments you have made such us Europe and Canada free-riding on American defence, that imply that American military spending is the only thing keeping the western world relatively war free.
