  • People That Like Winter, And Cold, Are Freaks

There's something wrong with you and I don't want to be around you, in cold or warm weather. If you like winter and cold, there's no telling what else that you like.
You have a problem. Some deep-rooted breakdown in your thought process.
You're warped. Seek therapy. Save yourself while you still can.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

Just remember that Mexicans migrate south when snow falls. It'll make you feel better.

I love winter. Genuinely. And the cold.

          It's -21C/-5F (-27C/-17F w/ windchill) right now and I love it.

It's brisk and refreshing. And the snow outside is beautiful.

Cold winter nights also enable some of my favourite little things in life. A nice fire in the fireplace, relaxing in a la-z-boy drinking a dram of fine scotch.

What if you run out of scotch? Yeah, then what? Harness up Buck and the other sled dogs?

It's obvious what's going on. Asher thinks he's bad-ass or something because he likes cold weather.

The facts speak for themselves... cold temperatures like Asher describes absolutely will result in frost-bite and hypothermia if one is exposed to those temperatures without the benefit of warm clothing. On the other hand, hot temperatures in excess of 100F can and will result in heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

These are extreme temperatures which the human body is incapable of standing without the aide of technology. The range in between, however, is quite comfortable; any place with a temperature range between 40F and 95F is probably an ideal place for a normal human.

The fact is humans are not supposed to live in places with daytime temperatures below 0F.

I dare Asher to go outside right now in shorts and no shirt and spend several hours in those conditions.

I should take a picture of my Scotch shelf. The chances of this happening are pretty damn slim...I keep about a dozen bottles on me and open at any given time.

Why would I go outside in shorts and no shirt? It's too cold for that.

I went for a 30 minute walk (from my gym to my car, which I park at work) and it was awesome. Clean, crisp, fresh mountain air...the smell of wood fireplaces going, the early dusk meaning stars alight in the sky... Yeah, it was cold enough to wear a toque, gloves, and a winter jacket but that's it. You can feel the cold on the exposed face, but I like the sensation so long as it's not hours at a time.

I'm not even joking/trolling. I love Winter, I hate Summer. I actually start getting clammy/sweaty at anything above ~72F. I'm weird like that, I know.

Similarly, the only time I ever go hiking in the Rockies is in the winter. I love winter hiking. In weather like this, I'd start in a winter jacket and end the hike in a hoodie because of how warm I get over the hours. And I don't think you can understand the tremendous beauty and tranquility of a Canadian winter. Even the air is awesome.

                        Well

In general, total mortality is about 15% higher on an average winter day than on an average summer day (National Center for Health Statistics, 1978).

On the plus side, the corpses don't start to stink as fast, so the extra 15% isn't really that noticeable. Winter

If it is too cold, put on another sweather. If it is too warm... too bad.
