None of those things are going to happen. But watching peeps like you misunderstand everything said to you, makes up for it. So please keep overreacting. Want me to say something liberal?“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect. I will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do.”
"Capitalism ho!"

Or better yet. Why not post your own opinions rather than just copy and paste every article that you've read this month?“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect. I will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do.”

Prohibition was backed by women for the most part. It was aligned with the Progressive movement, and it hoped to forge a new society through social engineering.
Prohibition in general strikes me as a right-wing concept - it's certainly not liberal by any stretch of the imagination.

Your understanding of the development of US politics leaves something to be desired, Mobius. It's pretty clear that different baskets of policies in different countries arose in conjunction with each other. What might not make sense from a UK perspective does from the perspective of the US, and at least in part Canada as well.12-17-10 Mohamed Bouazizi NEVER FORGET

I think we've moved on from my obvious mistake...
BTW, anything religious in my book is usually right-wing too. That's just the way it is.

There is a very strong Christian left presence, epitomized by Rev. Jim Wallis and, of course, President Obama is far more on the Christian left.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
- John 13:34-35 (NRSV)

Just for the record, via Andrew Sullivan, this is a billboard advertising Rush Limbaugh's radio show in Tucson:
EDIT: to clarify, I do not mean to imply in any way, shape, or form that Rush is responsible for the shooting, nor is any other political pundit or personnage. However, if there is something positive to salvage from the wreckage of the massacre, no matter how wrong-headed the rush to blame one side or the other for the bloodshed, maybe we all should examine the rhetoric used by various elements all over the political spectrum, and CALM THE **** DOWN.Last edited by Guynemer; January 13, 2011, 13:01."My nation is the world, and my religion is to do good." --Thomas Paine

Yes, he's to the left of crazies like McCain and Limbaugh and Palin, but he's not a left-winger."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
