I don't think Palin's gun rhetoric (or anyone else's obvious or not so obvious violent rhetoric) causes crazy people to do crazy things. Crazy people will find whatever stimulus is necessary to do crazy things. But it's impossible for us to get rid of all such stimuli. After all, if this guy admits that his toaster told him to shoot the nice Congress lady, should we blame toasters?
That said, I do think the violent rhetoric in this country doesn't help us rationally debate political issues.Click here if you're having trouble sleeping.
