There is much suffering in this world not caused by man. And some of the suffering in this world is caused in the name of god. And some of the suffering some inflict on others has nothing to do with God.

Who said that omniscience means approval? I think Kid has a hard time explaining what he was getting at, but basically people have free will and when they do evil, God can comfort them and perhaps use that evil for something else... that doesn't mean the evil never happened or that it wasn't wrong.

Actually

even though I am also one that rejects the link to god concept of conscience, it's one of the only arguments for god that is based on something I can understand. There is something in my thought processes that does recognize right and wrong. It's origin is another one of those things that haven't been proven yet. I do wonder if serial killers don't have that or they just ignore it. For those that say God told me to it, is it just their thing that is the conscience is screwed up?

Good question, and I don't know. I do believe that God created life through evolution and there are mutations through evolution, so perhaps that is a bad mutation? I just don't know.
