  • B5 or BSG

I have a couple of gift certificates for Amazon and I have decied to use them to get started on a Sci-Fi series. I have narowed my selection down to Babylon 5 or the new Battlestar Galactica.

    Which should I go with?

PS- I have Firefly already and it is my favorite show.

That's a tough one. BSG is probably more entertaining on a per-unit-time basis, but B5 is more interesting IMO.

Watch first 2 seasons of BSG and seasons 3 and 4 of B5.

B5. Just realize the first season is about setup and don't focus on how rough it is.

B5 was unbelievably cheesy in some places and I spent many episodes wishing certain ACTORS (ACTORS, not CHARACTERS) would just die die die. I'd say BSG.

            I liked them both though.

I can't stand the actor turnover in B5, and the acting is better overall in BSG. But B5 does have a much better story.

This says Babylon 5, This was off a search, "Firefly more like b5 or bsg". BSG is a close 2nd, and in reading, I might choose it.

I remember liking the show but I havent watched B5 since they were originally on TV. I'd have to vote BSG

-Babylon 5 for huge fun. It has hiccups, but it's a great little universe with well-imagined mix of races. Character actors trump the leads, bigtime.
-BSG for the more serious, impressive production, with more gravitas and depth of (some) characters.

I watch for fun, so I'd take Bab5 every time.

                        Get Netflicks, then rent both.

Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and probably Stargate Universe but I have yet to see an episode of that one.

I have no interest in Stargate. The movie was horrible and the series (all of them) are based on crap.
