The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.

There's a lot of truth in his comment, actually. The Narnia moves were greenlit due to the runaway success of HP.
While probably true (It may be a combination of HP and LoTR's successes), it ignores the Christian undertones to HP.
And Elok, Asher isn't always a troll, and therefore I'm not feeding any trolls by this post
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
- John 13:34-35 (NRSV)
It doesn't ignore the Christian "undertones". I don't even think "undertones" is the right word. Narnia is about as subtle as the X-Men's pro-gay "undertones".
"The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
Ben Kenobi: "That means I'm doing something right. "
I'm talking the Christian undertones in the Harry Potter series (the irony of calling something a Christian Harry Potter is that HP has a Christian basis, which becomes apparent in the final book - The Deathly Hallows).

He said "Christian undertones to HP." HP was fairly subtle about the Christianity until the last book, when she gave Harry stigmata.
Oh, right. I get all those children's books confused.
I didn't notice any Christian undertones to HP because I frequently fell asleep in the movies. Perhaps that should've been the first hint religion was at play.

I think there was essentially no chance of Last Battle getting made. Ever. I have no idea how they would have wiggled to Stealth-Jesus that one to mainstream it the way they did the others. Or was that why you wanted to see it? I somehow don't think you liked TLB itself...
Looks like the Christian Harry Potter is going to be no more!
They haven't gotten to my favorite book in the series yet: The Magician's Nephew.
“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect. I will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do.”
"Capitalism ho!"
That's less than half of what Prince Caspian made its opening weekend, even slightly less than The Golden Compass. The Golden Compass, FFS. Yeah, I think it's game over, man.
EDIT: Wiki says they made more than $80 million worldwide, though. I don't know if that's good.
It does have to compete with Harry ****ing Potter.

Studios are so stupid. They've saturated the market for dullard children fantasy tales, so they keep making more high-budget flops.

Now there's a head-scratcher. You're atheist, and you like a thinly veiled account of the book of Revelation?
EDIT: Er, pardon the incredulity.
I like the Mahabharata, but I'm not a Hindu.
This is what being open-minded means. You don't need a Christian bone in your body to appreciate the almighty allegorical body-blow that is "The Last Battle". Anyone shying away from it by going "Ooooooooo it's Christian which means I don't like it" is a blinkered dolt.
Yes, but that movie's been out for a couple of weeks now. $25 million is a pretty wretched opening weekend, and the studio is supposed to be feeling twitchy about the series already. OTOH, with the worldwide revenue it's almost covered the cost of production already, so I guess it's up in the air. If the next movie's as crummy as Dawn Treader, though...yuk. I'd almost prefer the series died rather than four more like that.
The production cost does not take into account marketing costs, which are frequently equal to or greater than production costs.
Prediction: There will be no next movie. Done.
