Canada marching away from religion to secularization
You have to scroll through a bunch of stuff, but from the link:
U.S. Center for World Mission estimated in 1997 that the percentage of humans who regard themselves as Christians rose from 33.7% in 1970 to 33.9% in 1996. 2 Its total number of adherents is growing at about 2.3% annually. This is approximately equal to the growth rate of the world's population. Islam is growing faster: about 2.9% and is thus increasing its market share.
Maybe not proving the world will get more and more religious, but it appears that Christianity and Islam are growing and not falling.
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
- John 13:34-35 (NRSV)
There are multiple sources with conflicting data. Some think Christianity as a percent of world population is shrinking. Regardless, the numbers that are actually relevant to Hera's claim would be the percent of people who are "nonreligious" or "atheist" and that website does not discuss any trends for those groups.
It says that no religion is about 12% and dropping. It gives atheism as a stable 2%. Obviously there is some uncertainty in these measurements.
It mentions that Christianity is staying constant or dropping (as a percentage).

It really doesn't matter if the third world countries are becoming increasingly religious...

Anyone here played the game "Civilization"? Over-expansion is a curse! Overpopulation is not good either.
Those countries would be terrible Civ players.

Civ 2 was a terrible game. Only shut-in losers liked it. It's also obsolete.

Canada may be growing more secular but the world at large will be more religious in 50 years time than today.
Okay this is why Heraclitus needs to pause before posting stuff. He gave absolutely no explanation as to what the second chart meant. I had to figure out that it was describing fertility rates and clearly some people (like Asher) were a bit confused. Seriously, Hera, no caption or anything? Just put a chart up and expect everyone to know how your mind works?

"I have nothing against Wilson, but he's nowhere near the same calibre of QB as Flutie. Flutie threw for 5k+ yards in the CFL." -Ben Kenobi
I pointed out, correctly, the US has more in common with developing nations than developed nations.

I wish the US did. Developing nations are doing better.
