By the way, the ****up I found was created by a pure tech guy like you, and was based on reseeding inappropriately.

Any time you find yourself reseeding, step back and punch yourself in the face. Then build it the right way.

Which is why I mentioned specifically (2 pages ago) that this application had no security concerns.

Why not just increment the stream? Remember, this is just to give people numbers; it's not for the draw itself.

What you are concerned about is getting a large number of identical or nearly identical numbers being sold, and pulling from a single stream with no reseeding guarantees that this will not occur with any higher probability than a truly random distribution would suggest.

No, Asher, I am not "extrapolating" anything here. What I am saying is that reseeding can (and does) create undefined behavior. Drawing from a single stream as long as possible is the best solution here, because it guarantees the independence (measured through a large set of statistical tests) of different lotto tickets put out by these machines.

If you knew how RNGs were built you would know that.
