Secondly, oh forgive me because I didn't right away assume college because here in a normal country called the land of the free and the home of the brave, we don't have free college educations. That's for the socialist backwaters to have
You come from Philadelphia...trust me, you have no room to consider where I come from a "backwater" from the ****hole you reside in!

You only pay the tuition fees as a "tax" on income above a certain amount, until such time as you pay off your debt. If you don't benefit from your degree (i.e. get a well paid job in the end), you won't actually pay for any of the tuition. "Saddled with debt" is entirely misleading.

Well I can't see many people benefitting from some of the craptacular universities and courses that are in existence. Too many people with degrees in advanced tapdancing from Barnsley University (formerly polytechnic formally college formally disco) that they can't find a job. My main problem is that education has overexpanded and the only real purpose of these degrees is to keep these people off the dole and off the unemployment records for a few years. I don't think we should pay for this crap in any shape or form, where there is value to be had in proper education...

Not that I expect it anytime soon, but if any of the great public works programs like nuclear power plants and the like ever get off the ground, we have a decided shortage of skilled craft in the US. College edumaction isn't an end all be all.

In todays economy it is very hard for most students to get a job.

To be fair, if I were British I'd want to assault Charles and Camilla whether I got education or not. Just look at them and tell me you don't agree.

You can't assaunt Camilla...she is a horse, and cruelty to animals is illegal.

The thing is though, at this point, I am failing to see what the LibDems are getting out of this. They are going to be seen as hypocrites but they are not getting full PR...sounds like they are getting screwed to me...
to be seen as a serious party of government and actually be in government for the first time in over 80 years maybe...

That's a pretty ass-backwards way of doing it..

A man who wrote novels during the 19th century. He is British. He is one of the most famous fiction writers in the English speaking world.

(I have no idea if he is at all popular in the USA though)

Of course I know who Charles Dickens is. I am familiar with 'great works of literature'. Just like, Boris, how I was somewhat familiar with opera (I mean relative to anyone on the street)...

Led Zeppelin compares to neither, however.

Phantom of the Opera != opera.
