Boring sport, boring world cups, boring venues, boring scandals.

+1, though it's not like I care for any sport.

Russia are a proper footballing nation who haven't had a WC yet. Even if they bribed FIFA they're a reasonable venue.

Quatar, OTOH, is less so. Officially a high-risk host, a tiny desert country where homosexuality, exposed female flesh, alcohol and public intimacy are either illegal or close to it, and 50 degrees centigrade in summer. Doesn't sound ideal really.

Anyway, everyone knows that the only tournament that really matters is the Carling Cup. Until January, at least.

Oh, and Japan, Korea, and USA for being greedy enough to want to host another WC so shortly after having hosted one.

                  Sounds like Utah.

Ah, Serb. Good to see you.

Arshavin is finally starting to play well this season. This is good, as he's a player who can produce something out of nothing, when he can be bothered. Was he ever accused of being lazy when he was at Zenit?

USA commentator complaining about FIFA corruption :

                              This bit was funny though:
Quatar ... Located at a huge distance from most of the fans who might want to go?
I'm not sure he's thought that bit through.
