Burning the Quran is probably safer than burning the Bible because it is made out more natural materials. Bibles, these days, are often made with plastics and other agents that emit noxious fumes when burnt. Having said that, I checked and it turns out that they had tried twice before to pass this bill before getting it through in 2006. Just goes to show how the responses to terrorism invariably lead to bad laws and a repressive state.
