Teen girl arrested for burning Koran

She's an American citizen living in Oregon, not Iran or some bat**** crazy religious country like that.

A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of inciting religious hatred after allegedly burning an English language version of the Koran.

The 15-year-old, who lives in the West Midlands, allegedly posted the video, filmed two weeks ago on her school premises, on Facebook.

The video was reported to the school and subsequently removed, police said.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of making threats. Both have been released on police bail.

No, I'm American. Some of us think burning American flags should be illegal (says so in the Bible, right next to the bit about idolatry), but a number of those same folks have no objection to toasting Korans. My opinion on the matter is that you shouldn't be destroying anything to make a point, and it would probably be more ecologically sensitive to simply compost the offending material. If you're going for shock value, you can urinate on it first. Anyway, it can all be legal AFAIC.

Honestly, I don't know what's wrong with the brits, but they have in many ways gone crazy. Though, there are several european countries where you safely can burn a bible publicly - I'm not sure I would try that in america unless I had a good way of escape.
