How many artillery pieces do you think that they have?

      • AS, you don't know what the **** you are talking about when you discuss the Korean War. You should stick to topics you know about - namely, not getting laid, Muslims, ******s, Muslim ******s, and likely, Asian transexual porn.

The reality is that the PLA's successes early on were entirely due to the bungling of Douglas MacArthur, not any actual superiority over the US military. Mac charged north, ignored intelligence reports, and allowed his units to be flanked and overrun. Once Mac was sacked and replaced with Matthew Ridgeway - who was perhaps the BEST combat commander of the US Army in the 20th Century, if not in the entire history of the US Army - things were very different. The US didn't conquer North Korea due to the fact that we didn't want to take the casualties, not that we were unable to do so. We inflicted an incredibly disproportionate casualty rate on the PLA and the Norks, sustaining only 36,000 deaths, while inflicting well over 2 million.

The United States and their allies achieved their mission on the Korean Peninsula, as laid out in their STATED WAR AIMS. The Norks and the ChiComs failed in theirs, which was to forcibly reunite the peninsula. A stalemate? Hell no! The Korean War was nothing more than a very costly defeat for the communists.

There are thought to be perhaps up to 10,000 artillery pieces scattered about near Seoul. Many are old they can still deliver shells. Plenty of it is dug in, camouflaged and hidden. Hw could you take that lot before Seoul was wrecked.

Anyway, are there enough cute, fluffy seals remaining unclubbed to attempt such a daring operation?

          • Yes, if a Second Korean War started, Seoul would be ****ed (if the Norks decided to shell it). At that point, though, the gloves would come off. Not even the Chinese would prevent the US and South Korea from utterly ****ing over North Korea, once North Korea murdered hundreds of thousands of civilians.

Which is why I think North Korea won't do it. They are crazy, but not quite that dumb. I hope. But if they are that dumb, they are ****ed right back to the Stone Age. And you never know - to quote Robert Gates, I can't answer any question about North Korea that starts with the word "why".

            • "Muslim ******s with an interest in Asian transexual porn who are not getting laid" sounds like an interesting topic.

              • Probably the only topic on which AS can speak intelligently.

Like I said, artillery doesn't fire magic shells. Most Soviet howitzers cannot fire further than 30km. How far is Seoul from the DMZ?

                    • About 30 miles (48 km).
Seoul has a population of more than 10 million people. It is located in the northwest part of the Republic, about 30 miles south of the DMZ, which separates North and South Korea.

                          • Wouldn't good counter-battery fire be able limit a the majority of those howitzers to one volley?

Oh, wait, Americans suck at covert operations.
I think America just engages in more covert ops than most countries and so you hear about failures more but don't really hear about the successes.

                              • We've been through this once before and it didn't work out that great. China needs to get on board.
