  • British education system among the worst in the world

As most of you should already know, the British have been heavily criticized for their education system, and how they are "more like prison facilities" than "learning institutions".

Strictest rules in the world and unlike America, students have absolutely no freedom of assembly and are forced to be branded like cattle by wearing school uniforms. They also don't have high schools or elementary schools separated, they have little 5 year olds, and 18 year olds all together, they don't separated 13-18 from the kids, like they do in America.

Rules and discipline seem like a good idea in a school. Keeps the little monsters in line. I went to a school where teachers and administration seemed incapable of maintaining discipline. You get sent to the front office for a jolly good telling of by the Headmaster or deputy headmaster. You tell the headmaster to go **** himself, end of problem and no consequences. I am not joking.

Needless to say, the school had very low standards of educational excellence. Couldn't have been much lower.

I also spent time at another school which had compulsory school uniforms, assembles, rules, discipline etc. Standards of educational excellence were very high. Giving the headmaster the abovementioned advice on obtaining sexual satisfaction would have resulted in expulsion.

I am very much in favour of rules and disipline, backed up by the cane, in our schools. I think it very unfortunate that headmasters are no longer permitted to administer a jolly good caning to deserving children. I deserved most of my canings when I was a schoolboy.

These days instead of uniforms we literally tattoo the school badge and motto across each child's face.

Though to be fair it's new member (11 posts) posting a deliberately provocative and inaccurate troll thread, I'm sure that's the kind of responses he was after.

Perhaps not. He might be a school boy who dislikes discipline and having to wear a uniform. (Seems a normal attitude for a school boy so far as I recall from my school days in the rather distant past). We don't know anything about him yet. I've seen several of his other posts, I don't think he is a troll. Benefit of the doubt, at least for the time being?

But aside from the point that some schools wear uniforms here (and I believe some schools in the US have uniforms, the proportion in the UK for uniforms is higher) everything else in his post is factually incorrect.

Strictest rules in the world - FALSE
students have absolutely no freedom of assembly - FALSE
are forced to be branded like cattle by wearing school uniforms - FALSE (not all schools + see below)
They also don't have high schools or elementary schools separated - FALSE

As for uniforms you wouldn't claim US military are 'branded like cattle' just because they have to wear uniforms, and schools use them for the same reason; to promote discipline. Branding of cattle (or historically slaves) is used to assert ownership, so I think I could say that comparison is FALSE too.

Thus a comment by Cort Haus that what he said was bollocks is just an accurate description of his post.

It will be interesting to see Alpha Protocols' response to this thread.

BTW I wasn't disputing the accuracy of the comment posted by Cort Haus, CH has a good track record for accuracy anyway.
