So, I did, and I sat in the front row ignoring them while I did nothing but write Kanji. I have so many stories from my time at school. I even got pulled out of class by security one time. I made absolute mockeries of everything my instructors wanted done, never once doing what they expected, but always fulfilling their pointless rubric requirements. It became amusing to me to see how far I could push the envelope. I got most of my instructors to admit that their course was pointless and not applicable to the real world. I even told my Marketing Management Problems professor up front that his course was a waste of my time and I'd rather spend it on something more useful. To which he replied that he was going to fail me from the course (before I ever even turned anything in) and that I should just drop the course.
The fact is that the traditional academic system is a scam and the people employed in it, at least in certain areas, are idiots. I took zeros on all my homework assignments, instead pulling out scores near perfect on the exams in order to keep my B. In most courses I walked in starting at a B and came out with the B. In one of my marketing courses I took zeros on 15% of my grade resulting in me being forced to pull out a 95% on the midterm and a 99% on the final in order to keep my B. The only way they could drop me below a B was to use things like "class participation" as part of my grade. In other words, subjective non-performance based grading. It's a joke.

No, but as was stated before, I don't need to take 16 weeks on a course. There's no reason for it. I also don't need to sit there and listen to a lecture. It's just a waste of my time. Just give me a decent book and the resources I need and I'll be fine. If I get stuck I'll ask a specific question when needed, but that's it. It's incredibly rare for me to have to ask for help. Asking for help on here for my Java was hard for me to do.

As far as my "online" degree is concerned, I can speak from experience that it is far superior to the degree I obtained from a state University. Your silly little degree in finance pales in comparison to it. Furthermore, I'm not sure how you can say I have no interest in it. I have been interested in computers since I was a kid, and my original track was to major in computer science before I decided to jump out of computers. Furthermore, your statement that it has nothing to do with what I want to do in the future is erroneous. This is part of my future, and biochemistry is a very long term goal. I'm well aware you have trouble comprehending anything beyond what's in front of you. You are, after all, not a guy who is very forward thinking.
I'm not sure how my desire to learn the Cello or live in Japan is vague either. Especially since I was getting good enough with reading and writing Japanese to be able to read newspapers before I stopped to focus on IT. We both know there is no way you could teach yourself the things I do, let alone in the span of time I take to do it. Why you even continue to attempt to challenge me is a matter of speculation. Usually it occurs after your confidence level is built back up and you feel there are enough people attacking me for you to jump in as well. You are pathetic.
I also don't see how pursuing life long education goals is a bad thing. I realize, again, that a simple man like you is content to stick with just a few things. I, on the other hand, feel an insatiable need to continue to improve and acquire more information at all times. Also, you're only 3 years younger than me, if even that, so I'm not sure why you keep clinging to your age as if it somehow puts you in a better position. Furthermore, I have already explained to you that it is "parent" not "parents." I realize that you probably don't remember this since your memory is not exactly the best. At the end of the day Albi, you're weak and a total **** up. Your ambitions are below average, and your abilities are clearly below average.
I'll also tell you that my goals are well planned out, which is why I have a time line for them, something you can't seem to grasp. Some areas must be accomplished and completed before others. My perception of time is obviously far different from yours since you clearly find it acceptable to aim for so little.

My mom lives in Ireland. Also, "this" was just one of my typical responses to Albi's incessant attacks that he can never back up and always ends up abandoning until he regains his confidence. The thing is that once I get my career started, then what will you have left? Your only attack is my current situation, which of course is remedied the minute I get a job. Then what?

You don't need to, but going to university gives you the paper to prove it. I mean a real university, not the "do it at your own pace" type that employers don't really consider real."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

I've been to a "real" university and I have the piece of paper to prove it. I find it completely inferior to what I'm doing now. Furthermore, you'd have to be an idiot to go and get one of these business degrees and be pushed to the point where you actually felt the need to develop thinking techniques, time management, and stress management. In addition, I believe all of these qualities are natural characteristics of people anyway and can't really be taught. It's like trying to teach people leadership. You're either a leader or you're not.

I think bottom line here is that Universities don't offer anything you can't do on your own. They basically give legitimacy to people like Albi by handing out pieces of paper. The only reason to go to a university is to make your studies official. Also, I think the stigma against online learning is going to decrease over the years. For one thing, traditional universities themselves are heavily relying on online learning already. Not only that, but they don't even require you to go in and take a test often times and instead allow you take it online. Plus, you have a whole group of people coming out of universities who are well aware of the scam that it is. They're going to be far more open to non-traditional systems that offer an equal or better product in a shorter amount of time for a fraction of the price. Then you have the reality that the current academic system is not economically sustainable. You are going to see an increasing trend away from brick and mortar towards online courses.
