                Ok, somewhat easy: Of the (approximate) 93 recognized Roman Emperors who reigned up until 476 AD, 21 of them had this dubious "distinction."

                      Julius Nepos died in 480 I believe, but Romulus Augustus is usually considered the "last" Western emperor, and no one knows when, where or how he died. He was a kid when he was deposed.

                      Nepos is, by the way, not one of the 21.

                            Yeah I figured 21 seemed too low. 21 would be maybe how many were murdered by their Praetorian Guard or something.

                              Maybe they were only Eastern and Western Emperors after Diocletian? Not very dubious though.

                                Nope. The 21 come from all centuries of the empire, although they do tend to be concentrated at certain periods.
