I've come up with a new twist on my grease the groove chinups... I'm studying for the GMAT so every 10 problems, I do 10 chinups. It's kind of cool. Even though 10 chinups is hardly taxing for me, it gets my heart rate up enough and my mindset changed enough that when I go right back to the problems, it feels weird like it takes longer to even read the problems (I know from prior experience that after doing really taxing exercise like certain Crossfit metcons, it takes several seconds to even read a single word). I see no reason why I can't train my brain the same as any other muscle using this.
It's similar to the Kim's Games we did immediately after exhausting and highly sensory-stimulating combat exercises. It's a really interesting experience to look at a number of military-related objects for a few seconds, spend 20 minutes crawling under barbed wire, through water, etc. during a cold night with flares, pyro, and simulated machine gun fire going off around you, then have to recall all the objects with specific details like what color was the camo paint, did the canteen have it's cap on, etc. It's tough."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

what are poor dips? As in you could barely do them and they looked ugly?"Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

if now, start training till you reach 5k, then HIIT. If you want to know how to reach this, there are plenty of programs around the web, and I can also assist you in creating a program ( I learned it in the Zionist Occupation Army of Death )

Argh! Monday was another hard day! But then, part of my fitness effort was to start cycling to footy this week - so I think I'd partly knackered myself by the time I got there...
Also, the prob with 5-a-side is that you can't really just stay in defence all the time. Still, although I've not seemed to feel any better fitness-wise, the last three games I've not been able to take a break in goal for at least 15 mins as I usually do - so perhaps I'm getting fit by stealth...?:ninja:

I kinda like the idea of doing a ZOAD program - even thought about checking out some Krav Maga for a laugh...

BTW JM, seeing as you're in Sweden, have you come across Fartlek...?

Fartlek is also nice. They have different cardio purposes. including Fartlek in your regimen can give a quantum leap in both speed and endurance. It depends what you want to do with your body, as always.
