It's the biggest one in North America, too. Suck on that, Americans.
Brian Burke, the GM of the Team USA Olympic Hockey team, is marching in the parade this year too.

But it's the pro-gun crowd that is, by and large, also unwilling to help fight poverty.
Are there any statistics that give you reason to think this or is this a feeling that simply because folks don't line up behind the latest fight poverty initiative that there is an unwillingness to fight poverty? Granted, loosely, the thought is 2nd ammendment advocates are typically against governemental growth and size of government (albeit ironically the outcome of this ruling is an expansion of the authoritae and dictat of the federal government at the expense of the state and local).
However, given the inneffective approaches and counter effective approaches of governmental policies towards poverty (and as a consequence there is reason to believe to support those policies is actually harmful in efforts to thwart poverty) and given that research indicates that the more conservative sectors of the country are more generous with respect to charitable giving than more liberal sections of the country, I would be interested in how you came to the conclusion that gun advocates don't fight poverty (as much as the anti-gun crowd presumably).

Republicans are the biggest pro-gun party, they're also the party who is typically against helping the poor. Look at them on this site -- the word "welfare" is a joke to them.

The word welfare is a joke because it implies a governmental nightmare of reverse consequences, innefficiencies, all culminating in a lack of results not because of a lack of desire to help the poverty stricken.
Private philanthropy is an equal if not more important measure of willingness to help those less fortunate as regardless of its effectiveness (it may be equally frought with inefficiencies as a governmental run program) it is conscious decision to give of what is yours.
As for the GOP members on this site you refer to, I honestly have no idea the political affiliation of those that espouse conservative views and if they are indeed GOP or not. Seems the majority portions are simply libertarians and trolls and/or libertarian trolls.

There is precisely one valid argument against gun control in the USA: The right to bear arms is in the constitution.
This decision isn't anti-gun control, Asher. Not one of the rights guaranteed in the Bill of Rights is unlimited. All it does is bring some sense of sanity back to as outright bans a la DC and Chicago are impossible now.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

Congrats, you have now suprassed the line of being a partisan moron who always argues for "his side", no matter what the facts are.
And if you actually think about it, what kind of ****** would insist keeping more guns out of public hands would not reduce gun violence rates?
This is sound logic on it's own, but the thing is that making a law against something will not eliminate it from society. When guns are outlawed, guns do not disappear from society. When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. For details, see murder rates in Washington D.C. and Chicago.
