Fake Ronaldo is the correct moniker for the self-obsessed Portugueser.

        • Asian sides looking ok so far - both Koreas and Japan.

          • Nork - Braz was the best yet, and there was no fcking diving either from the Koreans. It was like the good old days, they even played with a sweeper.

As for how disappointing this WC ha been I saw this on another forum:

            1994: 2.71 goals per match
            1998: 2.67
            2002: 2.52
            2006: 2.30
            2010 so far: 1.54

I swore to myself to wait to judge it until everyone has played twice, but that is a really striking statistic.

            • Pretty consistent decline there, Kitschum. Soccer is devolving into an even more boring sport!

              • All of the potentially good footballers are playing real sports now.

Albert, please don't make these inane comments. You don't look very clever and you're not making any friends. Even if it were a consistent decline, the World Cup is not all of soccer, is it.

Anyway, I made a chart because that's how I like to spend my nights

As anyone can see, the evidence is hardly "consistent".

                  • How the hell did NK manage to score on Brazil?

Also for the bit that I watched (about 3/4rds I believe) it seemed that the only reason Brazil didn't totally wipe the floor with them was a few unlucky missed shots and the fact that everyone on the ****ing north korean team was on defense. I think they only had ONE GUY on offense.

Well if I was managing North Korea, that'd be my strategy against Brazil!

Well, there's this spherical object and each team defends a box with a net around it...

No, the only reason Brazil didn't wipe the floor with them was NK's excellent defence which was able to snuff out virtually everything Brazil tried. Most of Brazil's attempts on goal were tame long range efforts. Their first goal was, in all probability, a mi**** cross into the box!

Their one piece of goalscoring skill was Robinho's slide rule pass setting up their second goal, at a time when NK were stretched at the back as they were pressing for an equaliser.

NK were actually very good on the counter attack with some very intelligent passing. Not to mention they had The People's Rooney playing for them...

Yeah, sounds like someone's whining because their favourite team (the best rated one in the world, naturally) didn't score lots of goals because the other team didn't realise that's what they're supposed to do!

                            • yeah NK actually looked like a decent side, they were very organised at the back and passed the ball well. brasil didn't look convincing in the first half at all, they turned it on a bit after the break (and no doubt a few choice words in the dressing room ). NK acquitted themselves well and certainly won't be a walkover for portugal or the ivory coast.

                              • In fact second place will probably be determined by which of Portugal or the Ivory Coast can't beat them.
