I'm quite well aware that he quit because he knew it wouldn't make him happy. That he couldn't see this for so long is rather my point, isn't it? It's not as if his "immensely mature" world-view gave him any actual wisdom. Sure, everyone makes mistakes. But then, everyone isn't as sublimely arrogant as KH, either. Not to mention insecure.

(I started losing my respect for KH when, instead of giving advice when I asked for help in a thread related to admission in graduate school, the guy went nuts over what I thought was pretty trivial. I hadn't expected such a pathetic and insecure reaction from someone whom I, till that point, admired academically. I thought that his status as a physicist and his other achievements, along with his experience, were such that he would help. Instead, what I got was an extended (and quite vitriolic) discussion over the smallest of things. I didn't know what to make of it then. I do now; he's just unbelievably insecure. Watching him bump this thread over and over again was pretty hilarious, if quite sad; how the mighty have fallen!)

It's not surprising though. Sloww is a weak dull-witted old man. He is obviously intimidated by KH, who has accomplished more in a year than what Sloww has his entire life. So Sloww lashes out with irrational anger and drive-by posting against him. Frankly, I take being insulted by Sloww as a compliment. If the thinks I'm doing something write, it's time to reevaluate my life.

          • Aneeshm, I don't think he gives a **** about anything you said to him. He ended up having an aneurysm about Sloww.

              • Is it possible for a husband to rape his wife? What does the Bible teach about this?

Right wing Christian nutjobs say a husband can't rape his wife and if she says he did then that is because she has been deceived by Satan and is being disobedient. You have to love religion.

Oh dear lord. Of all the things.....

My personal views on marriage, by the way, are very different from my meta-views on marriage. I've already made clear my views on the framework. As for what I think of in my own case, I have no wish to force myself on my (hypothetical) wife, and in fact find the idea quite repugnant. I would not find any such contract agreeable. I wouldn't, personally, like to be a party to the contract I had described earlier as the "old-style" marriage. But if others would, and both of them want to, for whatever are their reasons, then I'm not going to stop them.

i actually remember that thread, it was a pretty incredible tantrum to be sure. then again nobody does a pathetic and insecure reaction quite like kh, as we can all see here.

But what if she is a dominatrix? Is that also the work of Satan? Or is it just some harmless kink?

                          That wasn't subtle at all.

Yes, you prefer that she'd be submissive and let you have your filthy way with her. What's truly amazing in all your sophmoronic reasoning is that you've never once considered the woman's point of view.

                            • It doesn't really matter who's wife Slow was referencing, it's still really low to go after peoples families.

And for the record KH's wife is a very nice, funny, intelligent person.

                                lol!

Anyway I think that, whatever the relationship between a man and a woman be, if she says "no" to sex and he forces her to do it against her will, is rape.
Of course, there are women that get excited by that and sometimes it's a "consensual rape", but still sexual abuses are possible, even in marriage. I mean, a wife has the right to say "no" in the most civilized families, isn't it?
If a wife perseveres to say "no", there is divorce or the paramour's option ;-).
The destination doesn't matter. What's important is the journey.
