I said what I removed. If you want to lie about it, that's no big surprise. It was exactly what I said, and you're now whining about. Illegal isn't not permanent, but nothing about you.

Post 63, KH. I didn't say that you were either. I said you were wrong.

OMFG, you piece of cowardly ****.

      a) Apologize for your ***** behaviour
      b) Not permanent resident + NOT ON THE TEMPORARY WORK VISAS I LISTED = illegal

I already asked albert what visa he thinks they're on. He hasn't responded, and you're not going to be able to because you're as dumb as a rock.

Is that what you're reduced to, you stupid, coward *****?

Man up, apologize and we can get back to insulting each other.

            I've no reason to apologize.

You're not even enough of a man to get insulted on the internet without resorting to attacking somebody who's not there to insult you back. You're a sad, stupid little man, and a worthless piece of **** coward.

I don't understand this. I wish I paid more attention to people's immigration statuses when I was younger but the guys I worked with were only here for 2 years or so and we going back to Egypt, Tunisia, etc. with the money they earned here.

It's a very common and well-known thing... immigrants come here to work 80 hours a week living in 'hostels' made up of 8-12 immigrant males in an apartment, work for 2 years, then go back to their home countries. This is a very common phenomena. But KH, you're making it seem like it doesn't and can not happen legally.

I also am seriously curious about how Texas manages to function without taxes.

We have taxes, Albert. Read up. We just don't spend ourselves into a hole.

To answer your "illegal" debate, in part:

Non-Residents for Tax Purposes are usually exempt from social security tax for a specified period. Once requirements to be treated as a U.S. resident for tax purposes are met, Social Security tax should be withheld from U.S. payments for services. Please refer to Tax Publication 519 - U.S. Tax Guide for Aliens for more information. Some countries, such as Canada, have bilateral agreements with the U.S. which exempt a visitor from paying a social security tax in this country if they already pay one there. (see Tax Publication 519 - U.S. Tax Guide for Aliens).

Holy crap, if you want to find me the work visa that allows it I'd be more than happy to admit I was wrong. There are guest unskilled worker programs, but they're limited to a few thousand per year as well, and are usually used for specific industries like fruit picking and crab harvesting. Seriously, man: if you want to argue this, do some research.

                              Sloww:

I'm not understanding the relevance of that quote though. I mean I know we're talking about immigration statuses and taxes in Texas in this thread but they're two different topics that I'm not sure how they got combined. Maybe I'm not connecting the dots but what did something about tax treatment of Aliens have to do with these two different questions I have (How does Texas function without wage taxes? and How can KH say that it is very difficult for immigrants to work in this country when it seems apparent to me there are hundreds of thousands of them doing it already very easily?)

                                I AM NOT DEBATING YOU!

I am asking questions. I have witnessed it myself and I thought it was common knowledge that immigrants do this. It seems to me that from how you paint immigration in this country, it would be virtually impossible or very difficult for these immigrants to do what they do, especially in the numbers that they do it (ie- come here and work with family ties or company sponsorships, send back remittances, and return home in a few years). This is not a debate or an argument.
