    I'm counting down the days.

I would have thought growing up in Calgary you would have heard enough bad things about TO to ensure you never moved there.

I lived in TO about 20 years ago and absolutely will not do it again. It was bad enough then and is far worse now. These days I literally have to be paid before I will venture to the city.

Split the difference and meet in KW. Is the Pink Triangle still open?

Sadly, I'll be leaving the country to curse out Chinese people at that time.

My trips to Waterloo are in and out...never stay there unless I have to. I don't know what the Pink Triangle is, I can only assume it is a math club.

I only moved to Toronto because the job in particular was $$$$$. Head and shoulders over what was being offered in Calgary at the time (because it was a contract with Lehman Brothers, who at the time was not broke...to say the least). It was also close proximity to the SO in Waterloo and far enough away from my hideously annoying relatives in London.

I think it was the best decision 'cause I got great experience out of it, and a fantastic starting salary. Now every place I work with is old salary++, so it's always good to start high.

Oh sure, but you have no qualms trying to get me to go to TO.

              Thanks pal.

I would have expected a better guess at least.

When are you leaving? So far we haven't set a date yet.

@ Asher: How about the Jersey Giant for location?

Located near the St Lawrence Market , this is a basic British-style pub complete with a dartboard and pool table. The bar attracts plenty of corporates but the atmosphere is relaxed and calm. The dark wooden ceiling beams, pictures of Queen Victoria and Churchill and Victorian-style lanterns invite you to settle on a bar stool or at a table. The standard British menu, like shepherd's pie, fish and chips, and liver and onions is what you get here. You can also choose from burgers, all-day breakfast, steak and seafood.
It's at 71 Front Street East, about a 5-6 minute walk East of Union Station. I haven't been there in a couple of years, but I remember it being a decent pub.

The mathies at Waterloo own the color pink. They wear pink ties.

Waterloo is the geekiest city in this world. There's nothing sexual in Waterloo.

Sounds good to me. Though if people speak in British accents, I'm not responsible for what I may do or say to them.

It was a bar in Kitchener, well away from the kids.

                            It's a long story.

Short version: I grew up near TO, so when life fell apart a couple of years ago I wound up coming down for the summer and ended up staying.

That is perhaps the most depressing story ever.

*shrug* Sometimes life sucks. Other times, it bites down hard. So it goes.
