You see, this is what I'm saying.

We have no proof he did anything.

If he did, it's still easy to insulate him from wrongdoing by have a lesser functionary take the blame.

Though it may not get that far, without a money trail or recordings it's all hearsay.

If it does get that far, the overall cost of investigation / censure / impeachment will so overshadow the cost of the actual misdeed that it will be hard to justify any such outlay.

Besides which, the central figure in all this won't be Obama, it will be his Auntie, and anyone who seriously goes after her will look like a total dick to most of the population.

Which, in the final analysis, is why nothing will happen.

The question is how did that order come about? I think it's an extremely valid question. It presents the appearance of impropriety. Where there's smoke, there's often fire, and even if there isn't, it's incumbent upon Obama to show that that is the case.

I wonder how many people are granted political asylum from Kenya each year. I presumed she was granted refugee status, a more common thing for poor Africans entering the US - perhaps especially from relatively stable and somewhat decent democracies (when they are overrun in border disputes).

I guess her asylum is founded on gender-based oppression, since political (and religious) views are not persecuted by the state in Kenya.

This is in the "good to know, but who cares" category for me. Can't work up any outrage over it, not without a smoking gun, and especially not after the real, serious abuse of power crap we've seen since '92.

I'm really not sure how Dubya abused his power.

This abuse of power actually affects the tax payer in a fairly significant way (ie, she lives in public housing, and I'm willing to be she doesn't have her own health insurance, either).
