Roland is an interesting cat.I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

True story:
A few years ago, when my parents were looking to reroof their house, an Austrian contractor approached them for the job. Basically the guy got enraged whenever they asked questions about the cost, materials, and labor. He stormed out in anger twice in one meeting. Clearly he had no people skills and it makes me wonder why he would choose a job that requires face to face meetings and a good personality.
My guess is the labor consisted of his own enslaved children living in his basement and materials stolen from Jewish households.
