      Hockey !!

Far betetr to be skating around rather than standing still in that baseball game. And football is a game where it seems about half the team have to try to get as heavy as possible

Fact: Increased rates of youth soccer participation in the U.S. are correlated with higher childhood obesity rates.

So fat kids choose soccer because they are shunned away from ore popular sports. Point being?

Only if you accept that preventative medicine has a significant effect on health outcomes. There's actually very little evidence that this is true.
How is this so? Preventative medicine is great; wearing spf can keep you from getting skin cancer.

Preventative medicine is great, when I exercise and eat smart/etc I don't have blood pressure problems/cholesterol problems/etc. When I don't, even if I am not dying/etc due to my problems, I am still having to take medication/etc and feel like **** + heart goes funny/etc.

So lets move to things that are preventative medicine. Lets consider things like routine physicals, breast exams, prostate screenings, checking cholesterol etc etc. Are you asserting that a population that did these things would have no better health results that a population did not do these things? In short, are you asserting that either

                          1. these measures do not contribute to earlier detection of medical problems OR
                          2. That early detection does not lead to better resolution of medical issues

You see, on its face I find your seeming lack of support for preventative medicine to be a little perplexing

Generally taking care of your body and not being a dumb **** aren't preventative medicine, they're natural selection.

I'm wondering on where you draw the line then.

Is women feeling their own breasts for possible lumps preventive screening or just 'taking care of your body'?
