HDTVs tend to be a bit bigger than your garden variety LCD monitor

Yeah, it's not the resolution that's OMFG Amazing, it's the size and PQ.

Compare the contrast ratio of a good HDTV vs your typical monitor... especially one from 2004.

Sad to say this xkcd is a big fail.

On my iMac, HD is just a small little window.

Gee... watch a great movie on a large HDTV vs a small computer monitor or a cell phone...
The TV is far more impressive

Yeah, let me know when the average computer monitor is 55 inches of glorious HD.

This guy has never watched hockey in 1080p 65" HD

                ACK!

Actually, HD has rekindled my interest in Hockey. Actually being able to follow the puck makes all the difference. (especially without all the special effects that FOX tried)

I suppose it also helps that Chicago has a great team and the owner who banned the games from TV keeled over and died.

It's hard to watch anything in SD anymore. Especially sports. Probably the toughest thing is trying to watch soccer in SD after you've seen how amazing it looks in HD.

Asher, yeah that helped too But I do remember watching TV the last time the Hawks won the Cup. You could barely tell which team was which.

                        Imran. Agreed.
