Is the organic food movement the most anti-science social movement out there?

  • Just for the record, for some of my foods, I do buy organic. But I think proposed ideas such as Ecofarm's is ridiculous. When I go grocery shopping, I buy both - processed and organic foods; I don't have a hyperventilating reaction to processed foods the way people like Ecofarm does.

The only idea I have proposed is that we combine organic and conventional techniques as appropriate to circumstance and move towards sustainability.

        That's ridiculous?

        • This "sustainability" mantra seems pretty stupid. We're not in any danger of food becoming unaffordable in the future.

          • Food is already unaffordable for millions of people.

And it's going to get a lot more costly as resources are degraded and depleted.

            • Food is unaffordable for poor people because poor people are poor.

The best way to make food affordable for them is to help them get less poor. This is not going to happen by encouraging them to use less productive and more intensive agriculture, you ****.

Or maybe technological progress will put downward pressure on food prices. I don't see any reason to expect things to get worse.

That would be one way of making poor people less poor, assuming they're able to benefit from that pressure.

                      Someday, grib, you will.

And I already told you people, I'm not dealing with the Axis of Evil while I'm sober. They're too boring. Suffice it to say that KH is wrong about agriculture and doesn't even use the terms correctly, as usual.

You're way too funny for us to lose.
