Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

He also hates Texans and Australians, he does diversify." ~ Braindead

I think it's gooder to sound not as smart. That way no one bothers you for advice. Though I agree that pauses are useful. (Just not online... I took a nap there between "are" and "useful"... in real life I would have woken up and not had to think of how to finish that sentence... that's efficient communication.)

The whole "um" thing always struck me as stupid. Everyone should intuitively know one looks more thoughtful if you pause with silence and give the appearance of thought. Covering it up with "um" is obvious and detrimental to image."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Above all things, never use "ask" as a noun. It's somehow become popular among middle and junior managers trying to project a "man of the people" stance by emulating football managers- people paid to shout at retards, not sound intelligent. The genesis of the "evil Finn" concept- Evil, evil Finland

I think "um", "like", "ya know" and "uh" to be about the same thing as profanity. Very rarely profanity is actually descriptive, usually it is just a place holder for someone who cannot think of the next word yet and does not want to break a solid stream of words.

A child has hardly had the time to refine their speech patterns and presentation skills, even an intelligent one. After a certain point in life (perhaps, adulthood?), intelligence should result in such things.
If someone posted about how dumb it is to sht one's pants, would you post a baby and claim "everyone thinks it is cute"?
ps. No, I'm not watching the stupid video.Last edited by Ecofarm; April 14, 2010, 12:51.

Smart people intrinsically know what to read and when. I know when not to read."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
