The TPers are already contemptible, regardless of their feelings about black people. Why bother putting this much effort into it?

            1. I'm guessing he finds liberal economic policy contemptible (he must be commie-inclined).

            2. "their feelings about black people"... Well, another person who wants to paint them ALL because a couple of bad apples. Obviously, this smear campaign is working well despite pages of people pointing out how retarded it is to blame the whole for the actions of the very few.

I mean, COME ON! It's not like the tea party had knowledge of these actions and who committed them, then shuffled the problem members around to other demonstrations so they could do it again.

ps. It has only now occured to me that Elok was trolling. Damn-it.

I don't really think the guy was racist in calling Obama's dialect a negro dialect. It can be hard for older people to keep up with the proper PC name for African Americans. Blacks? Coloreds? Afro Americans? Come on he's a democrat. Their whole election base are minorities and whites who belive in what is basically social democracy.

We all know the name will probably still change in the next few decades, have some sympathy you'll probably slip up too. You trying to paint Democrats as racist is absurd. Republicans are implicitly white. They can't keep their current ideals and really appeal to Hispanics or Blacks since that demographic are and always will be largley very pro wealth transfers. Perhaps if blacks had something like a black nationalist party the Republicans could form an alliance with them on social issues (Blacks are very conservative on things like gay rights), but there isn't one. You need to figure out that trying to measure your party on Liberal standards will always result in the center moving more left, the offical stance of the republican party is much less coherent than that of the democrats.

Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”

Demographic make up of the tea party crowd.

Interestingly enough the 80% white composition (vs. 75% US population )and 6% black composition (vs. 12.5% US population) was reported. From media reports I would have assumed the black fraction to be much less than what this poll gives. 'Course it is Reichstagg Rasmussen.

The number of people who say they’re part of the Tea Party Movement nationally has grown to 24%. That’s up from 16% a month ago, but the movement still defies easy description.

And you tried reinforcing your point with the video you posted in the other earlier thread. You should have verified the reliability of your "evidence" before you made your point with that video.

This seems like a good thread for this...

Foes of tea party movement to infiltrate rallies

ALBANY, N.Y. – Opponents of the fiscally conservative tea party movement say they plan to infiltrate and dismantle the political group by trying to make its members appear to be racist, homophobic and moronic.

Jason Levin, creator of http://www.crashtheteaparty.org, said Monday the group has 65 leaders in major cities across the country who are trying to recruit members to infiltrate tea party events for April 15 — tax filing day, when tea party groups across the country are planning to gather and protest high taxes.

"Every time we have someone on camera saying that Barack Obama isn't an American citizen, we want someone sitting next to him saying, 'That's right, he's an alien from outer space!'" Levin said.

Tea party members said the backlash comes from ignorance.

"They can't actually debate our message and that's their problem," said Bob MacGuffie, a Connecticut organizer for Right Principles, a tea party group that also has members in New York and New Jersey.

The tea party movement generally unites on the fiscally conservative principles of small government, lower taxes and less spending. Beyond that the ideology of the people involved tends to vary dramatically.

Levin says they want to exaggerate the group's least appealing qualities, further distance the tea party from mainstream America and damage the public's opinion of them.

"Do I think every member of the tea party is a homophobe, racist or a moron? No, absolutely not," Levin said. "Do I think most of them are homophobes, racists or morons? Absolutely."

The site manifesto says they want to dismantle the Tea Party by nonviolent means. "We have already sat quietly in their meetings, and observed their rallies," the site said.

Another tea party organizer said the attempt to destroy the movement was evidence its message is resonating.

"We've been ignored, we've been ridiculed. Well, now they're coming after us," said Judy Pepenella, a co-coordinator for the New York State Tea Party. "Gandhi's quote is one we understand: 'First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win.'"

                              1. No coherent policy or actionable message, and evidently no intention of forming such despite being over a year old at this point. You want lower taxes and smaller government? Well, I'd like world peace and a cure for cancer. I can show you a three-year-old who wants a baby horse. And all of those wishes are equally likely to come true at present.

                              2. No attempt to become organized or elaborate on their principles (see 1), which are the same stuff conservatives have been extolling since at least the time I was born. The only difference now is that they're all taking it to the streets jerking off at their own sheer numbers. No leaders to get things straight or act on their goals, whatever the hell those are. Just yelling and picketing. Yawn.

                              3. A substantial portion of them are allowing themselves to be associated with Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin, FFS.

                              4. The ridiculous attempt to equate themselves to the Founding Fathers. Yes, your constitutionally-protected protest against certain actions of your properly-elected leaders is certainly analogous to the dangerous rebellion of our forebears against taxation without representation. You tools.

                              5. Where where these people when Bush was spending all that money and mucking around with warrantless wiretapping? Yes, I know Obama hasn't changed a whole lot as a practical matter, but do these people actually object to taxes/government/whatever in principle, or only when a Democrat does them?
