either way it's for some kind of political gain, right? whether it's motivated by secular or religious dogma is largely irrelevant.

Do you know about this women's group, or are you jumping on the "Give Sloww Crap Over Any and All" bandwagon?

Probably the same as the Russians when they flattened Grozny.

If the theory on the responsibility is correct, it has to do with dead husbands, not religion. Not even if they cried out "Holy mother of God" when they got the news about their husbands deaths.

Still wouldn't make it religious. The scope of these bombings would be the actors on stage and their motives, or we have to link everything back to big bang or God creating the world. Doesn't matter what their husbands fought for, if they did this because they were pissed off about their husbands getting killed.
Or at least that's how I see it.

Then again, of course it also makes sense to link back as well. I guess it's tomatoes, potatoes and rum y'know...

                    That's terrorism for you.

I'm surprised Serb hasn't piped up yet.

I agree. I think it is more political than religious (although the Islamist fundies will surely celebrate). The Caucasus will continue giving back to Russia for a long time to come.

HC - Is it "terrorism" to bomb a family home to rubble from 30K feet?

                        It can be.

Scenario 1: Woman's home is invaded by random gangsters and they kill her husband. She embarks on a killing spree to slay the gangsters.

Scenario 2: Woman's husband, who is a serial child rapist and murderer is killed by legitimate authority under real threat. She decides to kill innocent people to get back at the system.

Same thing? You're a moral relativist, and that's disgusting, but you are also a real "one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter" kind of guy.

Care to answer the question I posed Eco?

Collateral damage and legitimate targets /= terrorism.
