Me, too. I go slower in school zones, for instance.

Well, that's the difference on us euros and you yanks - we gladly pay $2 per liter and don't really care if price gets up 10-15% still our economy will be stable, but what with you yanks ? I guess that your economy will fall apart while we just carry on as usual.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

8-9 mph over the posted speed limit. Anything more attracts the attention of unwanted police officers.

9 over was always the rule in Chicago, but in Indy I could drive 20+ over and not worry about it. Recently they've finally begun to crack down, and I got a $225 slap as a result. So back to 9 over at most.

The only exception is if I have a "rabbit" in front of me (a car that is going a lot faster than me- draws out the "hounds") but I usually can't keep them at the sweet spot distance for long so even those exceptions are pretty short.

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

Our economy is already falling apart.

The fastest I've ever driven was on a stretch of highway between Tracy, CA and San Francisco. I was on a business trip and in a rather sporty rental car. The *posted* speed limit got up to 85 mph, and while going with traffic I topped 100 mph a few times.
Bull. 70 is the maximum in CA and even that's rare. It's 65 on most freeways.

Tracy->SF? You must have taken 580 which has a 65mph limit. You should be in jail you selfish sob.

I may have misremembered the posted limit, but you're wrong in that it was 205 and there is a stretch that is 70 MPH:

But as I said, I was going with traffic. I don't know about CA, but Oregon has a rule that you can't be cited for speeding if you're going with the bulk of traffic. They would have to have pulled over everyone.

you were on 205 for about 5 minutes. The rest of the way was 580. Still, you've admitted to going +30mph over the speed limit, you should cut up your licencse right now.

Usually about 10mph over the speed limit.

I'm also surprised that the Euros among us drive so fast, what with the extreme gasoline prices on that side of the pond.
                            It is posted 65.

I don't know that this is accurate. I don't recall seeing a road with 80 MPH in Texas.
