I think Tiger can take the temporary hit and survive. I don't approve of what he done but he doesn't have to apologize to me.

Well of course not. Why would he apologize to the world? He doesn't even seem to care too much about his family. This is just a matter of money.

I guess we have to look at his motivation for spending all this time in rehab. If it was just for money, he'd have put in his time, claimed he was cured and moved on. But instead, he apologized and went BACK into rehab. I think this means that deep down he does care about his family and not just the money. (and he does have more of that than he could possibly spend)

It's a lot easier to resist temptation when it only happens every few months.

Well I can't say that he's not sorry, but public apologies just don't mean anything unless they cost the people making them in my book. Since he will gain financially by making the apology it doesn't look genuine. Who makes these apologies when they don't stand to gain?

This is why he shouldn't have got married. I assume he only did cause he wanted kids. It should have been in the pre-nup that this kind of behavior was going to happen. Yeah it happens at least every few months. I assume my experiences here are not that far from the norm.

When people are courting it's a lot easier to think that you'll be able to resist the temptation in the future. She was a super model so I'm sure she was aware of what could happen. And I'm sure their pre-nup recognized certain issues (but as a negative rather than a privilege).

Considering the divorce rate in this country, it's obvious that a lot of people fall to the temptation. I don't think it necessarily makes the man evil, just weak. A man can still love his family even if he weak, so I refuse to automatically assume that Tiger doesn't love his family just because he cheated. But having said all of that, I still think he acted like an ASS, but it doesn't change my opinion of him as a golfer and I hope he plays again soon.

I think the point most of the sceptics are making is that regardless of what Tiger's response to his history is, whether he's privately sorry or not, the public apology is purely PR.

A public apology is purely PR by definition.
Which is why I stated that any apology that was owed was to his family.
His true feelings on the issue can not be determined by a public apology and those that try are just guessing.
