For a moment I thought it was James Woods.Which side are we on? We're on the side of the demons, Chief. We are evil men in the gardens of paradise, sent by the forces of death to spread devastation and destruction wherever we go. I'm surprised you didn't know that. --Saul Tigh

Just so you know, I'm not really arguing about the Palestinians here, and I'm not sure Asher is either. This is continued sniping about Avatar, which Asher rather liked but I thought was a laughable gilded turd of a propaganda film. I find its pretensions to "cultural relevance," or whatever they're calling it these days, silly, and anybody trying to dress up as its cardboard characters for emotional impact doubly so. They might as well have dressed up as that weird-looking pretty-boy vampire from Twilight, maybe got some teenage girls on their side.

Then Sarah Palin would become even more pro-Israel.

I liked the movie.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

Which is exactly why it will win the Oscar. The academy loves that ****."I have never killed a man, but I have read many obituaries with great pleasure." - Clarence Darrow

Kid, the movie was rather in keeping with your own beliefs (or at least the beliefs you used to have--anti-war, anti-corporate, environmentalist) so maybe you'd have liked it. But it tried to beat you over the head with its message, without actually developing it meaningfully or taking it in interesting new directions, and were it not for all the pretty-pretty it'd be a remarkably forgettable film. Bad plot, bad dialogue, no standout performances, action scenes unimpressive, and the sci-fi conceits nothing that hasn't been done better before. A gilded turd, no matter what Sloww thought.

That's your opinion. Evidently, judging by box office receipts, I'm not alone.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

Whenever I had mentioned in the past about how popular Cher is with her music, people pointed out that that has nothing to do with her ability to sing. I'm still a fan of Cher, but in response to what Slowwy said - box office statistics does not always mean that the movie is good.A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.
