While we're on the topic of how ****ed up America is... Here's a piece on how,at least one, uninsured woman with a preexisting condition is willing to trade sex for health insurance because she'll die without it.

No, Republicans (along with conservative Democrats) have effectively stopped any and all health care reform so if you have a pre-existing condition then you don't get health insurance in America.

Nope. They have the option of 12 months of pre-existing condition exclusion (for a pre-existing condition which was diagosted or treated in the 6 months prior to coverage), which can be offset by months of creditable coverage at the prior job, as long as there isn't a break in coverage of 63 days. If there has been a break of coverage of 63 days or more, then the entire 12 months of pre-ex exclusion can apply.

She also said she's spending 90% of her income just on her health care and will become homeless unless she gets financial help. I think she's hoping to find someone to help pay her health care bills so she doesn't become homeless.

I just watched the video, and you appear to be misinterpreting things. She is uninsurable by private insurance because of her pre-ex condition. No private insurance will allow her to buy in. She has insurance until her COBRA runs out. If she marries someone who has health insurance through their employer, she can join on through special enrollment.

The military, being a 100% government run health insurance business (which also happens to have the highest customer satisfaction rating of any health care provider in the country), doesn't care about pre-existing conditions and treats absolutely everyone exactly the same. They provide excellent universal government provided care for everyone so my suggestion to her would be to find a man in the military so she can get on this excellent health care plan.

It's practically a crime such garbage happens in modern America, correction it is a crime and people should be hung for it, but this is the crap system we have. The amazing thing is that the Democrats literally gave in to every single demand the Republicans made on health care reform yet they still decided to obstruct it. Literally every single demand the Dems rolled over on. It's obvious the Republicans are not interested in any reform what so ever as they believe America failing is in their political interest as then maybe people will take them, and their failed policies, back.

If she can join through the special enrollment (which is what I was alluding to in my first post), can't she do the same if she's the new employee. They don't differenciate at our company to my knowledge.

What did Bush do that was so wrong that the Dems didn't support? Dems have supported Iraq policy from day one, supported torture, warrantless wiretapping, Patriot Act, bailouts, obscene deficits, bubble-inducing monetary policy (hi Greenspan), etc, etc.

Dems got a huge mandate for change a year ago, and changed....nothing. Dems maintain their Robin Hood rhetoric, but as far as I can tell, the policies of both parties are equally ****ty.
