(what a surprise) And if you talk to a rep they usually tell you that if you're spending over a grand on a HDTV that you just have to have the $70 cables or you'll get a ****ty picture. WHAT CRAP. I went to the hardware store next door and picked one up for $7.00 and it worked great.
Most of the salesmen get paid on commission so they have no incentive to tell you the truth. They want you to buy the cables which work no better but which cost 10 times the price.

I'm an electrical engineer and I'll tell you it makes not difference.

I use new egg, and buy in bulk. I'm still sitting on a few new ones for future purchases.
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

I'll wait until these bad boys are common, then get a new LCD. They'll be dirt cheap by then...

Right in the middle of Samsung's CES front garden were these gorgeous ultra-slim LED LCD TVs, dubbed the 9000 series and comes with a fancy remote controller which we saw earlier. Even with a pencil stuck to the side it's hard to appreciate how thin it really is, so we've got you lovely peeps a video (including a pan scan of the booth front) and a couple more photos after the break. You're welcome.

Many years away from being commercially viable for big-screens.

They're cheaper than that now. That's what we bought for the Legion, and we're raffling one off during the Super Bowl.

Vizio is actually an American brand based out of Irvine, CA. Apparently they are just a brand name with a distribution network and they contract out all the actual engineering and manufacturing work to various east Asian suppliers. This model was popular in the 90's with computer monitor brands but has now spread to TVs and other consumer electronics. The company kind of loses control over the design aspect of its products but on the upside it can switch suppliers at the drop of a hat so it always can get the lowest prices.
