OOOO, lot's of inputs. I like inputs, for my motley bunch on consoles.
I've allways wanted to play "Russ Meyer's Civilization"

      The TV

is no good unless you get a BLU-Ray DVD player and spring for the High Def cable. Also, spring for the HDMI cables. The default non-HDMI cables they give you result in a deraded picture (i resolution and not p).

Component cables easily do 1080p these days.

But HDMI is better, for sure.

Yeah, I will be buying a bluray player and HDMI cables it's just that Dell only had a deal on the TV and not the other stuff so they were hoping to take a hit on the tv and them make it up selling the other crap. I decided not to play their game and instead only bought the deal and will now hunt around for a deal on the other stuff.

Unless you really like spending money, never buy cables at electronic stores. Most of the time they're out to rip you off. Buy online or at hardware type stores. The performance difference between a $50 cable and one for $15 is not really noticeable. (yes there are exceptions if the $15 cable is CRAP, but that's not the norm)

Electronic geeks can feel free to dispute this.

I will admit that I fell for this when I got my first HD tv.

It really pissed me off. I'm at bestbuy and the cheapest component video cables they had were like $50 for a 6' cable. You go to their website and the prices range from $9.99 to $90.00 but in the store they don't stock the 9.99 one. (what a surprise) And if you talk to a rep they usually tell you that if you're spending over a grand on a HDTV that you just have to have the $70 cables or you'll get a ****ty picture. WHAT CRAP. I went to the hardware store next door and picked one up for $7.00 and it worked great.

You're spending over a grand on the TV, you better not drink cheap beer and wear shorts while you watch it either! It's whiskey and tailored suits, at the least!

Monoprice.com is golden for cables, connectors, and whatnot. If you're paying even $15 for a short HDMI cable, you're being ripped off.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Buying online is usually the best price wise but when you buy the TV or other equipment, you need the cables today. (if they don't come with the unit) I haven't see anything come with an HDMI cable.
