Yeah, I will be buying a bluray player and HDMI cables it's just that Dell only had a deal on the TV and not the other stuff so they were hoping to take a hit on the tv and them make it up selling the other crap. I decided not to play their game and instead only bought the deal and will now hunt around for a deal on the other stuff.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.Comment

Unless you really like spending money, never buy cables at electronic stores. Most of the time they're out to rip you off. Buy online or at hardware type stores. The performance difference between a $50 cable and one for $15 is not really noticeable. (yes there are exceptions if the $15 cable is CRAP, but that's not the norm)

It really pissed me off. I'm at bestbuy and the cheapest component video cables they had were like $50 for a 6' cable. You go to their website and the prices range from $9.99 to $90.00 but in the store they don't stock the 9.99 one. (what a surprise) And if you talk to a rep they usually tell you that if you're spending over a grand on a HDTV that you just have to have the $70 cables or you'll get a ****ty picture. WHAT CRAP. I went to the hardware store next door and picked one up for $7.00 and it worked great.It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Monoprice.com is golden for cables, connectors, and whatnot. Buying online is usually the best price wise but when you buy the TV or other equipment, you need the cables today.
