  • The Pashtun are totally gay

This may be the least surprising news story ever. My favorite line?

One of the country's favorite sayings, the report said, is "women are for children, boys are for pleasure."

An unclassified study from a military research unit in southern Afghanistan details how homosexual behavior is unusually common among men in the large ethnic group known as Pashtuns -- though they seem to be in complete denial about it.

As if U.S. troops and diplomats didn't have enough to worry about in trying to understand Afghan culture, a new report suggests an entire region in the country is coping with a sexual identity crisis.

The report said: "When it was explained to him what was necessary, he reacted with disgust and asked, 'How could one feel desire to be with a woman, who God has made unclean, when one could be with a man, who is clean? Surely this must be wrong.'"

      Bullet-proof logic.

I wonder if this is what the Ancient Greeks had? Women relegated to pets who are to be kept in-doors and only interacted with in order to impregnate them, boys used as "pleasure". Sounds a bit like Sparta...

No, it doesn't. Sounds like Athens, read your books.

An amusing comment, but it's mostly true. This kind of logic (which is clearly not sensible at all) permeates much of North American culture as well. Far more than some people here may want to admit.

Actually, it goes like Greece -> Persia -> Afghanistan by way of Alexander. True story.

                  Kitschum is correct.

Some groups from Peshawar and Kandahar claim to be descended from Ancient Greeks that arrived with Alexander the Great.

No wonder the Canadian army doesn't want to leave Kandahar.

nuh-nuh, men keeping women for decoration and concentrating on sex with women almost only for reproduction, young men kept out of women and upkept as a butt-boy reserve for older men who want to have fun, sounds like sparta

I am terribly confused why you blame Poly for hostile OTs, when you are regularly the most hostile poster in the thread.
