According to Upton Sinclair communists and socialists are (were) closer in intent to the original teachings of Jesus so he should go back to being a dirty lefty.

Come to think of it, Kid, has anyone introduced you to C.S. Lewis? I hope so. Till We Have Faces is awesome. Not that this has anything to do with church selection; Lewis was an Anglican but it's hard to find an Orthodox Christian who disagrees with a word he said.

WRT church selection, I remain convinced that my own faith is best (don't we all, yadda yadda), but in all honesty if you're not comfortable with us a non-denom church might be your best option, at least for the present. Avoid Presbyterians (Calvinism is deranged and besides, they aren't allowed to have fun), Mormons, JWs, and of course the charismatics. But that's just common sense, I guess.

Grace by faith alone is a Protestant belief, so not just Lutherans .

I went to a Methodist church on Sunday. I'm also studying Methodism and it's history.

Dude, don't become a Methodist. They're all losers.

Ironically, I've been to loads of churches, cathedrals, temples and mosques all over the world...

I think mosques are particularly beautiful. In fact, the entire Islamic ritual of prayer, ablutions etc, is quite enchanting.

Still all make believe crap though.

I dunno... dem Episcopalians got it pretty easy too. A couple of rituals you're supposed to follow- but if not, don't sweat it.

                    Go to a Pagan Festival.

Bible camps won't let you dance naked around a bonfire.

The only problem with that is, having known too many pagans in the past, I'd stab out my eyeballs before the sights were permanently etched in my brain.

Yeah, there are some heavyweights in the community, but there are some hotties as well.

And NM how other people look, dancing around bonfires is bloody fun.

Why charismatics? I'm particularly pissed about the prosperity preachers.

Just avoid the churches where the Tithe is mandatory.
