I fail to see why the population of various East Asian countries would be correlated with their representation in the American entertainment industry. Based on your logic, the Dominican Republic would have to be far more populated than it is based on the number of Dominican baseball players and the US would have to be majority African-American based on the racial makeup of the NFL and NBA...

White Americans like to play baseball just as much as Dominicans and football just as much as African-Americans. Dominicans and African-Americans reach the highest levels of sport at a higher rate than white Americans because of unique socio-economic and genetic factors that also cause their representation to be only weakly correlated with their population. I find it far more likely that a similar dynamic exists with East Asian populations and their representation at the highest level of the entertainment industry, rather than a simple linear relationship with population like that you seem to be arguing in favor of.
