Which is why I would like to hear a scientific explanation of this, if there is one. Best not to assume, one way or the other.

Here's how I explain it; Mike is an idiot.

"His life began in my hands," Hermanstorfer said. "That's a feeling like none other. Life actually began in the palm of my hands."
      Life begins at conception, duh.

I would be curious as to any scientific explanation that a non-believer can provide.
Just because we don't know the answer to this particular case doesn't mean it has to be divine intervention. As to a scientific explanation: even as a doctor it's most likely almost impossible without knowing the details of the case.

        A rather obvious answer from a non-believer...

What Traianvs said. To my knowledge there are only ~2 doctors on the OTF, and precisely 0 doctors with sufficient facts on this particular case to offer anything beyond wild speculation, so you're asking a question you (should) know can't be answered. And that's leaving aside where the burden of proof ought to be in the first place.
          Unbelievable!

I agree - it could be either divine intervention, or scientifically-based. I'll leave this as a reply to Darius, as well.

So we're back to square one then? What's the point of the discussion? It "could" have been a psychokinetic wave sent from my jerking off at the time as well.

Given the surity that the "air plane" likely has no wings and is intended to navigate underwater, and the fact that it has your fingerprints all over it, I could hazard a guess.

More accurately, rational, scientific phenomena have no need for God. Sure, one can still hold the belief you outline, but all you've done is introduce an unnecessary element to the explanation of the phenomenon.
