97th Grey Cup: Saskatchewan Rough Riders vs Montreal Alouettes
I think CFL rules lead generally to a more exciting game than NFL rules. Movement behind the line of scrimmage is mostly not allowed in the NFL, which makes plays less dynamic and more predictable. NFL teams don't rely as much on big plays because they have the extra down, and big plays are harder to pull off because of the smaller fields. NFL players are big and tough, CFL players are smaller and faster. The NFL's longer play clock (40 seconds compared to 20 seconds in Canada) probably means they spend less time playing and more time thinking, but I'm not sure about that. The American game is more strategic, which either makes it more interesting than the Canadian version or less exciting, depending on what you're looking for.
Also, our players spend the offseason running restaurants and teaching kids instead of murdering puppies and sitting in jail.
I think a proper CFL analogy is the MLS in soccer. It's watched because its professional soccer in the US. It's not nearly as good as the European leagues. However, I guess, there is something added with the MLS, because it is a very good player development league for the US national team.
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
- John 13:34-35 (NRSV)
If the CFL was serious about being Canadian, they'd be 100% Canadian in players.
Importing washed up NFL players is not cool.

And you should follow the MLS! It's ok to watch the English or Spanish leagues when they are on, but if you are to have any hope of developing a genuine national fan culture, and by extension interest your young kinds, you need to support your local clubs/leagues.
The Swedish soccer league sucks in an international perspective. I'd guess we're at about the level of MLS (), but the fan support can be world-class on sometimes, the quality of play really doesn't deserve that level of dedication and effort, and I can only hope that it helps us draw and motivate new talent.
Everyone here knows the CFL sucks except for two guys. You guys are trolling us.

I didn't see the game, but holy ****...how mickey mouse is this ****?
The Saskatchewan Roughriders were in full party mode, galloping onto the field to celebrate the franchise’s second Grey Cup win in three seasons after Montreal’s Damon Duval missed a 43-yard field goal attempt that would have won the game for the heavily-favoured Als.
But celebration stopped colder than a Regina winter night when the players suddenly noticed a red flag lying under the goal post, followed by the announcement that Saskatchewan had lined up with too many men on the field.
That gave Duval another shot and this time he made good from 33 yards, making the final score 28-27 and sending his teammates rushing onto the field for a celebration from the opposite sideline from which the Roughriders had had to abort theirs.
“There were 13 men on the field,” said head coach Ken Miller. “There was a lack of communication. We thought we won the football game. It’s just totally 100-per-cent disappointment. That’s going to be a disappointment that will be with our football team for their lifetimes.”
