  • Please help me with an english text I've written

Would somebody be so nice and agree to check it out for linguistic mistakes? It's 15,5 pages long.

    Thank You.

Sure, I'll look. Is it the readme for a CivII scenario?

Only where it improves the artistic value of the original!
Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”
The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.

Would someone test out this executable file for me? I want to see if it works.

It is 100% guaranteed to execute your computer if you open it.

I need to see if it will work on other machines.

OpenOffice isn't happy with your fonts.

Word doesn't like them either. When I get home I'll take a second look and try fiddling with the localization settings. At first glance I'm seeing a lot of capitalization errors, but it's certainly readable.

Well I've done the first page, but I had to save the file then rename it before Word would open it, because it doesn't like your special characters. It doesn't mind them in the body of the text though.

Essential things from the first page: in English, the words Christian, Muslim, Jew and Caliph all take capital letters. I have put all amendments in bold so you can compare it to the original easily, but it would be a lot easier to find and replace christian with Christian, etc.
I'll keep looking at it if you'd like, but can't promise to have it done quickly - my brother's over this weekend so drinking will be more pressing than proof-reading.

You could try drinking while proofreading. "In AD 1009 the Poles all buggered each other senseless blarggggggggg"
